Lesson FourIf you notice, we did not always do word building. As lessons progress, there will be less and less word building and more and more actual reading. You will have to judge with your own students as far as whether they still require the exercise. A simple thing to do is to keep out magnet letters and encourage them to do it on the refrigerator {or something} on their own time.
- Sounds to review: short-a, b, c, d, short-e, f, hard-g,short-i, j, k, l, m, n, short-o, p, r, soft-s, hard-s, t, u, v, w, x, y
- Review sight words: O.K., the, The, a, A, to, for, pink, zoo, into
- Read: Set 1, Book 12 ("The Vet") pp. 5-ff
This is too early to actually stop, by the way, for the students are still learning basic sounds. But on short days, it is something that can be cut.
